Overview
Patient education is essential to the success of the implant procedure. Dr. Kelly and our team at Dental Implant Center of the Carolinas want you to understand every stage of the process to help you experience the best possible benefits. The following describes what you can expect.
1.
Day 1
Free Consultation
Dr. Kelly, our team, and you will determine your needs, assess your oral health, review your medical history, and discuss treatment options. We’ll also discuss costs, financing options if necessary, and timing.
2.
Can be same day as Free Consultation
Pre-Procedure Exam
We’ll take a 3D CT scan and create a photo-realistic 3D digitalization of your face and jaw area as well as make impressions of your teeth. This exam usually lasts around an hour.
3.
2 days to 1 week after Pre-Op Exam
Surgery Day
We’ll start by reviewing sedation options (IV or Oral). If required, any teeth will be removed during the actual surgery, implants are placed in the jaw bone, and your temporary, non-removable full-set of teeth are attached. You leave with your implanted teeth and new smile!
4.
1 week following surgery
Post-Op Evaluation
You’ll come back to our office for a full evaluation to ensure proper healing, aesthetics, and functionality.
5.
3-6 months following post-op evaluation
Deliver Final Prosthesis
The final restoration is permanently attached, and the doctor will give a final evaluation of your bite and aesthetics. You’ll leave with your new permanent smile and self-confidence, which you can enjoy for the rest of your life!
